This Is What You Can Expect On Every M.C. Avino, Inc. Construction Project: |
"It is our duty to advise, guide, and protect our clients." Michael Avino, President

Partnering: Every construction project team has a minimum of three (3) players: The Owner, the Designer and the Contractor. AVINO’s belief is that we can only achieve our common goal through cooperation. A large part of AVINO’s duty is to back up our partners. If the partners have an adversarial attitude towards each other, it will be a very long job. It is a simple concept but very few contractors adhere to it.
Expertise: We’ve been there, done that. Our clients hire us because they believe we are construction experts and we must consistently prove that they are correct. We have a diverse construction background. From those experiences, we know what it takes to get a job done. Our Project Managers have been cited in Who’s Who in Construction. AVINO has also been featured in the press, and has received awards for construction and management excellence from the Federal Government.
We Keep Our Promises: Our word is our bond. We work to meet deadlines, set realistic expectations and follow thru on them. By delivering over and over again, by meeting every deadline and by keeping our promises, we build on our reputation as the contractor to go to for difficult and demanding projects.
Attention to Details: We sweat the small stuff. AVINO brings a sense of urgency and attention to detail to every project we do. We are absolutely compulsive about tying up the loose ends. Our critical path scheduling keeps us proactive even when there are changes on a project. We also believe in corresponding with our clients to keep a written record of everything that affects the job.
Competitive Pricing: Everyone recognizes that price is not always the prime consideration. However, in today’s competitive market, it’s a large factor. If we cannot compete, we haven’t earned the right to do business with you.
Speed: Time is money – for you and for us. We start work on your project now. That doesn’t mean we rush you to start before you are ready. Before the first crew hits the job, we analyze the job top to bottom for problems and we ask a lot of questions until we understand your intent. We want you to feel comfortable with us. Once we’re all on the same page, we prepare a “critical path” schedule. The schedule helps to show us the fastest possible track to completion and serves to let you know how we want to approach the project.
Solution: What looks like an impossible job to our clients is “the norm” for AVINO. All of us at AVINO love to find solutions. Problems are like stones in our path. Some we step on, some we step over and we go around the really big ones. Regardless of the path, we find the way to complete your project exactly how you want it, when you want it and in the most cost-effective way possible.
Financial Strength: AVINO does not believe in a large staff or offices. AVINO invests our earnings into building an efficient organization. Every year, we invest heavily in computer systems, software, heavy construction equipment and employee training. We have a substantial credit line so that we will always have sufficient capital to complete our projects. Our financial health is scrutinized semi-annually by an independent accounting firm. Project costs are tracked by our fully computerized accounting system. We carry complete liability insurance, builder’s risk and workman’s comp. Other types of insurance are obtained as necessary.
Accountability: One call gets you to the top. If you need to talk to anyone in our organization, including the “top guy”, call. You’ll usually get a call back that day, and certainly no later than the next business day. Because of AVINO’s size and flat management structure, we can react very quickly.
Fair Change Order Pricing: The reality is that changes happen on almost every project. When that happens, you can expect AVINO to handle changes with a minimum of fuss. You will get a complete detailed breakdown showing materials, labor, equipment and mark-ups. If you do not like our numbers, we will go over them with you until we both agree on the amount.
Acknowledge Our Mistakes: If it’s wrong, we will fix it – end of story! We take responsibility for our mistakes and do whatever it takes to correct them. We believe this demonstrates a level of maturity and professionalism uncommon in the construction industry. By being forthright and having a problem-solving attitude, we turn a potentially damaging situation into a loyalty building experience for our clients. After the dust settles, we analyze what we did wrong. We then modify our methods, which helps us prevent similar mistakes in the future.
