Project Description: Project was performed in an explosives manufacturing facility. All work done to strict safety requirements and stringent quality control procedures. The project is required to handle current and future expansion of the existing acid waste process piping system.
Excavate 6,000 cy for new 25 deep tank. Install temporary confined space stairs. Shore entire excavation and existing concrete structure. New 40 x 40 x 25d concrete secondary containment tank built to ACI 350 specs. Specialty epoxy and polyurea acid-proof coatings on interior and exterior of concrete tank. Install new field fabricated, welded 316L stainless steel acid waste tank inside concrete tank. Structural steel stairs into containment, fiberglass grating and handrails. 1,100 lf welded 10 stainless steel acid process piping on elevated steel stanchions. 250 lf new welded 16 SS acid piping in new concrete utility trench. 2-8 acid-resistant 125 HP waste pumps with Variable Frequency Drives. New electronic process valves and controls. Remove existing storm drainage system and install 600 lf of 2-60 concrete storm drain lines. Install 3 precast concrete manholes and rehab 1 existing manhole. New 500 kW diesel generator set with storage tank. Complete high voltage and electrical distribution. Demolish existing concrete storage tank and remediate acid contaminated rubble prior to disposal.

Project Description: Excavate and install 1,000 lf acid resistant 4' x 4' precast and cast in place concrete utility trench, welded field fabricated stainless steel lined manholes, 2,000 lf welded (4"-24" diameter) stainless steel acid waste piping, acid pumping system, structural steel, and electric distribution. ACI received a Value Engineering award of $235,000 on this project.

Project Description: Repair and/or replace approx. 3,000 above ground steel pipe supports, foundations and/or guy wires. Remove and replace 1,000 lf of each 8" and 6" overhead welded steel steam piping. Asbestos removal. Abate lead paint from pipe supports and repaint. Reinsulate piping and aluminum jacketing.

Rehabilitation of the St. Croix Four Major Pump Stations, U.S. Virgin Islands

Project Description: Demolish and install piping and sewage pumps in the four sewage pump stations that handle all of St. Croixs waste water. Abated lead paint from existing piping and pumps to EPA standards. Fabricated new flanged, ductile iron, lined pipe on site. Piping ranged in sizes from 18" - 30". New pumps ranged from submersible1100 g.p.m. to dry pit 4300 g.p.m. Received a Value Engineering award for redesigning the motor drives from antiquated magnetic drives to state of the art electronic variable frequency drives. Also redesigned the level control systems to use magnetic transducers in the wet wells. Flow was never interrupted by use of bypass pumping and working during off-peak hours. All materials were brought in by ship in containers.

Project Description: Project consisted of five segments. Segment 1 was to reline 2800 lf sanitary sewer with fiberglass cured-in-place pipe lining. Segment 2 was to video, inspect and clean 28,000 lf 8"- 24" sanitary sewer piping. Segment 3 was to remove and replace 1500 lf of 12" sanitary piping. Segment 4 was to replace 850 lf of 30" reinforced concrete sanitary piping. Segment 5 was to construct 2200 lf 4' x 4' concrete utility piping trench with precast covers; install welded 2"- 6" steel high temperature, high pressure water piping in the trench. Insulate pipe and aluminum jacket. Asbestos pipe insulation removal in manholes. Install flow control systems in 5 buildings.

Two 5,000 BBL epoxy lined steel fuel tanks, above and below ground welded steel fuel distribution piping, epoxy coatings, process controls, leak detection and alarm, lightning protection.

Project Description: This project is the third task order issued under an IDIQ contract with the USDA. The project is to develop a campground in a National Forest on Badin Lake in central North Carolina. Install erosion control to prevent runoff to lake; survey and clear 10-acre wooded site for new campground. Harvest timber. 2,500 cy excavation for parking lot; grade 5,000 lf for trails through woods; make all paths and picnic sites ADA compliant; drill 10 well x 300 vf deep with pump, masonry well pump house; 1,900 lf water distribution piping; storm drain piping and storm water control; 50 x 100 open wood truss picnic shelter building with standing seam metal roof; construct 16 retaining walls of manufactured stone; 16 picnic sites with amenities; construct new septic drain field and distribution piping to the bathhouses; construct 3 1,000 sf masonry and field stone bathhouses; bring electric to the site and install distribution power; 1,200 tons asphalt paving for parking area and 5,000 lf lakeside hiking trails; re-vegetate disturbed areas.
